Elevator Music
Just because we haven't updated our blog lately doesn't mean we're not working on the new issue. In fact it's taking a while because we're trying to bring up the quality. To all our 4 followers, it's going to be just a lil bit more. But in the mean time check out these three tracks which I think are interconnected:
The first track is "Never Let Me Down Again" by Depeche Mode, which is the basis of the interconnectedness of the following tracks. Just listen to the intro. The second song is "Napoleon Solo" by At the Drive In which to me sounds like the majority of the song is an expansion of the opening melody of "Never Let me Down Again". But it's probably just me. And the last one is a cover of the aforementioned by The Smashing Pumpkins.
Hope you got a kick and a half out of songs.

Girlfriends=Art
The way I won my girlfriend's affection was by making her bag lunches everyday. I would make a her a sandwich(usually peanut butter) along with getting her a bag of her favorite snack (usually corn nuts) and I would draw her some absurd comics (usually with a deus ex machina ending). I thought some people might enjoy some of these frivolous lines repeated in alternating directions implying shapes, faces, and thoughts, which were initially intended for my girlie Nereyda. It's fun to draw her some comics that aren't really intended to make much sense but rather for some quick shits and giggles.
(I started off not knowing how it would end, which Stephen King sez makes a good story.)

(You're going to have to click on this one to open in a new tab because the width of this layout cannot encompass the size of the second installment.)

Interviews

The interviews coming up should be interesting. From the frothy sea side town that is Venice Bitch, the vanishing hot dog vendors of the Hollywood strip, to sad stories uttered from the dry lips of the Palmdalians in >gasp< Palmdale. Great work Lester, you fat banker bastard. Lester is our Palmdale correspondent, who shoot recession victims with his expensive SLR camera all the while having twin jet skis sitting on 24's on his drive way. Fuck you Lester, throw us a lobster tail every now and again. Ha!
MMMMMM
I just finished transcribing some interviews we did on the BLVD a few weeks back. My hand writing sucks! But I did have like three tall cans before the first interview was ever conducted.

MMMMM MMMM opiates. I bet you didn't know it was so deeply rooted in this society or maybe you're shooting up right now. Who knows? You do I guess. I'm not just talking heroin either. Look out for my little conspiracy theory on Obama's obsession with Afghanistan in the next issue. It's a good one.
Now for my tribute to Lux Interior. Was going to do it for the February issue but I fucked up but it's never too late. He died at the beginning of February...hella sad. The Cramps are one of my favorite bands ever! Just awesome. He's going to be missed.

It's Not Sleazy Enough for Me to Get My Rocks Off
I have a new found respect for James Woods. He dropped out of MIT one class shy of a degree in Political Science. The same James Woods who went on to star in John Carpenter's Vampires, a laughably, ridiculous film complete with priest slaughter and sexy vampire bite placements. Anywho, he's my nigga on the real. Boy can he act like a snuff channel is causing altercations with the fibers of his very existence. I'm typing up an editorial dealing with art-films, consisting mainly of David Cronenberg films.
LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH!

Gazzillion Ear
Thom Yorke Remixed "Gazzillion Ear" off DOOM's latest release "Born Like This." This shit is insane! Peep my review of "Born Like This" in the next issue of Word Is Bond. Coming soon to a desktop near you.
I've been a fan of (MF) DOOM and Radiohead for a long time. Just reading the title of this remix made me jizz in my pants. Check out the review of the last years Radiohead release "In Rainbows," as one of the best albums of 2008. It's here at the Word Is Bond Myspace. I gotta go clean up. Rock on fuckers!
